Denmark is all in hosting Grand Depart of Tour de France and today is the first day of the celebrations before le Grand Depart of Tour de France on Friday in Copenhagen.

“We can feel it. And the whole country of Denmark, the support there is. All the things they’re doing and there’s all the regions where the Tour is coming. There’s a massive support from Danish people”,

“It is clearly, we have done our utmost to decorate it dearly, to show all the best we have in Denmark, to honor France, to honor Paris. That’s also why we build the Eiffel Tower”.

 

Copenhagen’s Lord Mayor hope to get the world to join cycling for the environment.
“Well in Copenhagen and in Denmark is cycling is not just something we do when we go from A to B. It’s also part of our DNA. And we have invested a lot of money in cycling the last ten, 15, 20 years. And I think one of the reasons is that when the Tour de France saw that, when ASU saw that they wanted to take part of that enthusiasm, but also they saw that in Denmark they could make a wonderful race.”

 

The race start Friday with a 13 km time trail int he center of Copenhagen
