STORY
Denmark wins 2-0 over World Champions France in Nations League.
It is the second time Denmark win over France in Nations League.
The tournament has been a good preparation for World Cup, that starts November 20 in Qatar.
France are among the favourites and Denmark is an outsider to win the World Cup, that ends December 18 in Qatar.
On FIFA’s World Ranking List is France nr. 4 and Denmark nr. 10.
Kasper Hjulmand, Head Coach of Denmark is very happy about the winn, that also is the last match before Denmark face Tunesia November 22 in Qatar:
“I think we played a very, very good match with high quality. A lot of things that we said that we wanted to do in this match gave us some very good answers”.
Denmark is also in group with France at the World Cup, and will face theme again in the second match on November 26.
Kasper Hjulmand, Head Coach of Denmark continues: “We’re playing against a top, top team. It’s unbelievable quality. They have all good players around the pitch. But I think we gave them a lot of problems with the way we played. We’re happy with the win”.
The trainer of the French team Didier Deschamps said: “The players were warned of what awaited us from the figures in front of their public in terms of commitment, duels. They were much more solid and consistent, more consistent than us”.
Denmarks coach was especielly afraid of the French attacker Mbappe before the match and said:

Denmark have many good players, that can play on the National team, but some stars are very important, such as Christian Eriksen, Schmeichel and defender Simon Kjær. Denmark’s coach Kasper Hjulmand hope the starts or other will become even more fit and not get injuried or not play on there normal teams.

The match in Parken Denmark – France was a spirited and fast played battle.
In the 33 minute did Christian Eriksen find Damsgaard on the left, that passes to a sliding Kasper Dolberg that manage to bring Denmark in the lead 1-0.
In the 38 minute did Denmark make it 2-0. At a corner did Andreas Skov Olsen get it from Delaney just outside the goaldfield and with a strong technical controlled kick did he hit the left side of the goal.
Second half started with several chances to France’s Mbappé and Griezmann, but all saved by the Danish goalkeeper Schmeichel, that also became “man of the match”.
Croatia ends up as winner of the Group A in Nations League and will play “The Final Four” in Marts 2023 after the World Cup.
