Halloween is coming up and in the first LEGOLand in the world, located in Denmark, could no longer wait showing the 12.500 LEGO Halloween figures and pumpkins.  

70 mio. LEGO bricks are used to make LEGO spiders, LEGO-mice, LEO-mushrooms and the biggest LEGO pumpkin ever made by LEGO in the world.

“We have the pumpkin field where we take all the pumpkins down,” explains Christina Østergaard Hansen, Event Manager, “And we want to build the biggest Lego pumpkin field ever made”

Among is the biggest LEGOpumpkin ever made by LEGO in the world. It is consisting of 100.000 LEGO bricks. It is 2,5 m wide, 1,5 m high and 2,10 m deep. It took 3 weeks to make it.

LEGO started celebrating Halloween in 2016 and the party is now expected to be visited by 625.000 LEGOland is nr. 3 most visited in Denmark with 1.7 mio. visitors per year.

During Halloween visitors can build halloween pumpkins and figures that are displayed in the Pumpkin Gallery.
Visitor Carsten Frehse, from Germany says :“It’s always fantastic. Lots of pumpkins, spiders, ghosts, which is perfect. It’s nice for adults, for children also. Its spooky but not too scary”.

The behavior of the monsters are based on horror research and psychological studies. It has been designed for kids from 5 years and up.
In the dark you meet green men, dancing twin skeletons and lost women in white skirts, that scares people of all ages, actually.

“We try to connect the LEGO bricks into our decoration. We try to do it in our event as well” explains Event manager Christina Østergaard Hansen, and continuous: “So, for example, we have the new show, which is based on the storyline of the 40s movie The Great Monster Chase, where a lot vampire is hosting a party on his castle. And that’s the concept that we took into the show as well”.

You meet the VIP figures from LEGO Movie and the LEGO sets on and in the castle. They are dressed up like monsters joining the Monster Dance Party on the Mini-castle, that also are known from the LEGO sets.

LEGOLand in Billund, Denmark was the first LEGOLand in the world.  The LEGO brick was also invented in Billund back in 1932 by a carpenter. In 1956 was the LEGO brick produced  for the first time in plastic.
LEGOLand is an app. 3 hours from Copenhagen and 15 minutes from Billund Airport – the second largest airport in Denmark.

Halloween in LEGOland goes on until Nov. 5  this year.

    “During Halloween we have like you see here in all of our decorations, we try to connect the Lego bricks into our decoration. We try to do it in our event as well. So, for example, we have the new show, which is based on the storyline of the 40s movie The Great Monster Chase, where a lot of vampires are hosting a party on his castle. And that’s the concept that we took into the show as well. So we try to take all the Lego DNA we can and make it come alive in the park for all of the guests to experience.”
