This weekend, the biggest LEGO bike ever build in was constructed in Rio at the Olympics, inside the Danish Pavilion on Ipanema beach. The bike was built using 30.000 LEGO bricks and construction took two days.
The construction was made by Brazilian Adult Fans of LEGO, so-called AFOLs.
The bike is 2,20 meters long and 1,65 meters high and, according to AFOL constructor Daniel Angelo De Almeida, it is the biggest LEGO bike ever built.
Thousands of people passed by the Danish pavilion during the construction and the construction itself was the biggest live demonstration of a LEGO construction project during the Olympics.
Visitors were also offered the opportunity to create their own LEGO designs.
To play with LEGO bricks originally comes from Denmark.
Biking is very popular in Denmark.
In Copenhagen alone, there are bike lanes with more bikers everyday, that anywhere else in the world. 55 percent of all Copenhageners commute daily by bike.
The worlds biggest LEGO bike will together with examples of Danish bicycling culture and green lifestyle be on display at The Danish Pavilion until the end of the Olympic games the 21th. of August.

“I think it´s great, I think it´s one of the best toys in the world. They love football here and maybe Lego is the seconds best toy after football then, so it´s a great thing for kids, and grownups.
“I think the thing with the olympics, is that it really connects the whole world, and with Lego pieces you can also connect whatever you want to; I mean just look behind us with all these tables with Lego, you can always see people sitting there building. I usually say that if you put ten Lego bricks in front any person, he will start building somethingâ€
