The World’s Tallest Sandcastle has been built in Denmark.

Towering 21.16 meters high is 3.5 meters higher than the latest Guinness record made in Germany 2019 with 17.66 meters.

The sandcastle is expected to stand until a heavy frost might occur in February or Marts, which will break it and it will disappear forever.

The annual Sand Sculpture Festival in Blokhus starts every summer, and it has become a tradition on many of Denmark’s sand-beaches to make artistic sand sculptures that stand until the frozen winter begins now in January.

STORY
The World’s Tallest Sandcastle has been built in Denmark.
Towering 21.16 meters high is 3.5 meters higher than the latest Guinness record made in Germany 2019 with 17.66 meters.

The construction is made as a triangle not to collapse, like many others have done.
A wooden construction was made around it, in order for the artist to cut the amazing figures in the sand.
6.400 tons of sand from Denmark has been used to build the castle. The sand got app. 10% clay in it in order to make it glue better. When it is all done an extra layer of glue is put on to make it last through most of the winter.

30 of the world’s most talented sand sculptors have made it with Wilfred Stijger from Holland as the experienced leader.

The record was measured by an authorised surveyor and signed by witnesses and send to The Guinness Book of Records.

The Dutch designer Wilfred Stijger started the decoration with the current corona bacteria as the crown of the castle and people crawling up fighting it. Artist Wilfred Stijger explains that it is “because corona is ruling our world everywhere and tells us what to do and is stopping us from being with family and friends at all the places here”.

The locals call Bloxhus at the “end of the road” in the North of Denmark. The locals are happy that their local characteristics, such as wind- and kite-surfing, beach houses, fish and lighthouses are part of the decoration on the sandcastle.

The sandcastle is expected to stand until a heavy frost might occur in February or Marts, which will break it and it will disappear forever.

The annual Sand Sculpture Festivals starts every summer, and it has become a tradition on many of Denmark’s sand-beaches to make artistic sand sculptures that stand until the frozen winter begins now in January.
